ok,,,here it is...... im putting a 96 cobra motor and t45 trans out of a wrecked cobra into a 98 GT that had an auto in it.

we left the cobra wiring harness on the motor and plugged it into the GT car harness...... there is one plug left coming out of the fender which is for the auto harness (which is not needed) and there is one plug left coming out of the cobra motor harness (a little 2 prong round plug) at the main connection

also we plugged in the cobra computer

we just tried to start the car and when the key was turned you could hear all the relays kicking in and everything but the starter wouldn't turn over or even try over (no its not the battery)

any tips of what this could be??? we have a GT motor harness and i think we are going to swap it and see if that might fix it

No hes not dealing with a pats issue.

His issue is that cobra and gt wiring will not work together. You need to use one or the other.

You have to splice your gt harness and put it on cobra engine. Or get all the wiring from the cobra and plug it in. IMHO Pain in the ass to use cobra wiring splice instead.

Reason it wont start is cause hes using cobra wiring and cobra/gt computer. It needs gt computer wiring harness and a custom tune for it to start.

Ive dont the swap so i know.

good call but swapping the harnesses didnt work, it just took a long time to do with the exact same results :damnit: the car is not turning over like there is no power to the starter but there is no reason why it aint

Then you need a tune.

roger he DOES have a pats issue.. the car will not start with a 98 gt ICM and 96 cobra pcm.. NO way.. the pats will not match.. he needs the clutster out of the 96 cobra or somebody to eliminate the pats issues with a tune.

the ICM and PCM excange codes if they do not match the other module that it was programmed for either by ford or tunning then it will not work no matter what,
