There is no point in using a 10 inch wide rim, even if you can get the rim to fit properly with no modification, you still aren't going to be able to fit the right size tire on the 10 to take full advantage of a rim that wide.
You aren't going to be able to exceed a 275, and even in most cases that's pushing your luck, and that size tire fits on a 9 anyway.
All a 10 inch rim is going to go is give you rubbing issues, and even if it doesn't rub on bumps in a straight line, the first time you go hammering around a corner you will find out how much movement the rear on a fox really has when it rubs pretty much everywhere.
Oh, almost forgot, with a rim that wide, it's highly unlikely that flipping the quads will do, i'd expect to be removing them.
And as said above, sometimes it's ok, sometimes it's not.
Also if your fenders aren't rolled, they will soon need to be.
