I was doing some research into which wideband to get, when i ran across some interesting info. If i'm goin down the track, and by the time i see the wideband read lean, its too late. The engine would be toast already. Is that true? So are widebands pretty much for doing ur own tuning and not so much early warning of engine damage? Because then i might just save the cash and use it for other go fast parts.

not true at all. one lean spot wont kill an engine.

Widebands are for tuning only. But u can run a guage all the time and keep an eye on it for a just in case factor. But unless u have a part go bad or something ur tune should not need changed once its set.
