widest tire for a 17 x 10.5

If I remove the quad shocks what is the widest tire I can run on the rear using 17 x 10.5 sorry for the newbie question.

the most ive seen on here was 315

was about to say the same. BERT306 has 315/35's on 17x9's on his fox. the thread is in the 5.0 tech if u want to check it out(even though ur 94-95)

i have seen 335s, dont waste your money, get a 315 nitto drag radial and enjoy traction

the nittos also kill alot of my understeer in the turns and prevent snap oversteer, if handling is you game

I run the 315 BFG Drag Radials on mine, and they are a little wider than thte nitto's. You can fit any 315 without removing quad shocks, but it will look close enough to make you gunshy.

nitto 555r's are 11.5 inchs wide. a buddy of mine pulled a 1.62 60' with them(on an 01 TA auto).

I made a thread about this a little while back. Like other's said, 315's is as big as you can run without modifications. 315's is around 12.6 inches wide.

I run 315's on mine..had fender flares and they rubbed the tires when I went around corners, took them off and haven't really had a problem since. The tricky thing really is finding the tire you want in that size. I'll probably drop down to 295's or 275s next time. The wide is cool in theory but I don't think the extra 20-40 mm add as much to the look of the SN95 as they do on lower-flatter cars...

I was planning on gettin nitto nt 555r tires, worried about clearence maybe if I shave off some of the inner fender lip.

Here is a link to a site with my car on it , sorry i cant post pics on here anymore for some reason? But i run 315/35/17's on 10.5 bullitts and i got the goodyear GSD3's and they measure from side wall to sidewall a little over 13"
