i just baught a 96 gt with 76000 miles. and i drive my friends gt and the clutch feels great and responds perfect. but on mine it responds late. what are the guesses as to what is wrong?
for the record he drove my car, and to help explain it the clutch doesnt do jack till its maybe 3-4 inches off the floor then has about 2-3 inches of room to play with it. a firebird guy told us that there is some kind of clutch fluid somehwere and that he added to it and made his respond better. is there such a thing.
Might be differnt years of cars. Plus not every car is going to feel the same. There is things that could make it feel differnt somethings going bad or just differnt cars. Differnt years..

Likely the clutch is worn. Also, it's possible that the cable is stretched. (For the record, the Mustang's clutch is not hydraulic, but cable operated.)
I'd start by replacing the cable and add a firewall adjuster and aftermarket quad. Steeda makes an excellent kit. Even if it turns out to be a worn clutch, you'll be glad you have these new pieces already installed with a new clutch.
