Last night i was driving around and then i just startted hearing a rattle come from the front of the car..it was pretty loud,
I got home got someone to rev it up and it sounded like it was coming from the back of the engine or where the x pipe connects to the manifold

Could the pipe just be loose?
Or is it a more serious problem?

I don't remember if there are heat plates (between the exhaust and the floor board) back there like there was on an old T-bird I had. Mine had come loose at one point. Jack the car up when it's cold and get under there and wiggle things. I wouldn't be too worried at this point.

If your car is lowered and have accidently taken a few speed bumps, it could possible be a portion of the catalytic conver has broken off in the cat assembly and is rattling. Try taking a rubber mallet and tap on the exhaust near the cats and note what you hear. My two cents. Good luck.

there are heat shields on the cats. Mine rattled once upon a time. I spaced them back out by prying them with a screwdriver.

Check for heat plates (shields) or maybe dust shields on your brakes.

Might even be bad timing (detonation).
