will 96-98 supercharger bolt up to 2000gt?

I was looking on ebay and saw a nice set up for a 96-98 Mustang GT. I asked the seller if all the hoses would work on the 2000 if i were to get a different mounting bracket. He responded and said that he bolted on the whole kit (mountiing bracket and all) on a 2000 GT. Is this true for all supercharger systems or what?

All the tubes, lines, fittings, FMU, etc... are good to go though?

Also, I know a lot of people ditch the FMU. Why? What takes the place of this? Just a custom tune or what?

what kind of supercharger? most centri blowers are pretty easily interchangable, but roots/twin screws bolt onto specific heads and 99+ heads are PI unlike the 96-98 NPI heads
