will a 93 bird tranny work in a 88 mustang 5.0

i was wondering if a 1993 thunderbird transmission would work in a 1988 mustang lx with a 5.0 the thunderbird has a 3.8

I assume you're talking about an automatic eh? If memory serves me, only supercoupes came with the manual. I would venture a guess no, but I may be wrong. go to the tccoa forums to find out more about your tbird

ive got a 87 t-bird turbo tranny in my 85 5.0 no problems with it of course i cant go to hard it on it since it came out of a car with 240 lbs of torque
