I'm getting an amp today, and was thinking of putting it under the front seat, wondering if it will fit, and how hard is it to take the seat off?

I think the obvious answer is, depends on the size of the amp.

Seat comes out easy, just 1 bolt at each corner. I'd take out the seat and lay the amp on the floor between the bolts and see how it fits, then maybe sit the seat down and see if it clears. Remember that the seat is gonna sag in the middle so with a passenger they might be sitting ON the amp which might not be a good idea.

Most amp's I've seen I wouldn't believe would fit or would stick out.

Would the heat of the amp melt down the foam in the seat? When ya sit in the seat its probably gonna flex at the bottom putting the foam against the amp. That stuff's nasty flammable.

That's my point. It's much smarter to put it in the trunk.

i had mine under my seat for like a year, it was fine. if your amps are getting THAT hot to cause a fire, then something's wrong.

Thats what i'm thinking, I dont think a good amp will get anywhere near hot enough to cause a fire, and besides, its not for big subs or anything, just one for the speakers.. Maybe i'll put it under the carpet in the back anyways though

I would think it would be easier to run RCA's back to the trunk and ground the amp back there anyways...less wiring to run.
