Any help as always much appreciated - The front seats are looking tired and drivers in particular is stained and the foam is tired. The driver's seat has electric lumbar support etc. where do I go to find replacement foam and upholstery? Or does it get to a point where a seat swap make more $sense. Back seats are fine and really want it to look stock if possible

TMI sells foam and upholstery. Both LMR and CJ Pony Parts sell their upholstery materials. They claim the foam however t doesn't work under stock materials.

I'd be tempted to remove the covers and toss them in the washing machine to try and get the stains out, or hit them with a Bissel spot vac if you have one. The downside to a full restoration is you might drop $2K on foam and upholstery and they don't look original. For that much money, you can invest in better seats too.

As for Carpet, ACC is really the only game in town. You can read up on the reviews with regards to fit of their carpets and decide if that's the way you want to go. Rockauto.com sells ACC carpet for cheaper than the Mustang parts sites.

Thank you!

I seem to recall somewhere it being noted it will not fit under stock upholstery. However did a quick search and I cannot find any mention of that. I have seen people use it with stock foam so maybe they removed that note. I'm just not 100% sure as i've never personally used their foam with stock upholstery.

Did not look but is there a right and left seat foam?
Well I looked :ack: fits both sides, reason I asked/looked is I have the idea to use the good foam from a passenger seat, they usually show less wear.
What can I say....I'm a low buck guy :kmcoff:

That makes sense. I’m leaning toward trying to clean the stock covers first and maybe re-foam the driver seat only. Hard to justify dropping that kind of money if it still won’t look OEM in the end. Appreciate the tip on ACC/RockAuto too.

I think the "will not work with stock covers" might come from maybe the new foam is thicker/bigger. If that is the case, could one not just trim a little off? I have NO personal knowledge of this, just theorizing.

The replacement foam is extremely over priced and horrible quality, like it will put a 5'8 drivers head into the headlines on a hard top...... Better off rebuilding and adding a new layer to what you have or buying decent condition used passenger seats and stealing the foam from them, same thing with rear seats to harvest material for patch work on tweed...

I was in the same situation, driver's seat was tired and the vinyl was ripped. Passenger and back seats were good. I ended up finding another good looking passenger seat and had an interior guy swap the foam and fabric over to my driver's seat frame. Then, he redid all the vinyl on both seats. Turned out great.
