my 93 gt is missing out bad at rpms above 3,000 i am not a very mechanical person, but here is what i am thinking, i just did a tune up new plugs cap and rotor, the cap that i put on it was a real cheap aliminum one (it all the parts store had) coulf that cause it? or it might be my tfi mod.? or my o2 sensors are real old with 120,00 ile on them could it be those? i am leaning toward the tfi mod. but i need to know if the car will run at all if its bad, cause it does run fine un til you get it up over 3 to 4 grand. also it will do this in nuetral too. hope this all made sense, any help you could give would be greatly appreiacted, because i cant stand to drive a stang that runs like crap!

Yeah it's a wierd thing, when I bought my car the TFI started acting up. The car would just die and then after it cooled it started right up and ran fine. I even managed to drive to PSU and back with no problems on the original module. If I were you I'd replace it since you got 120k on the car. You might also wanna look into replacing the hallafect sensor which is underneath the TFI I believe. I went through 3 TFI modules because this sensor was bad. Never had problems ever since(knock on wood).

Were you having this problem before you tuned it. Or was this for maintence and now you created the problem. Could be the coil and not the module. I had a weird problem with my coil. I installed a tach light and it would flicker under light accel. The car ran fine. I replaced the coil and the flickering problem was gone. I have never seenan aluminum cap. Every one I've ever seen was made from plastic.

As stated above was this an issue before the tuneup? When going out the tfi will work fine until the car warms up then the car will just die.
Sounds like a scatter spark issue to me, the cap may have black streaks inside where the spark has jumped around. This can happen in humid environment, I have this issue here in fl. A light smearing of tuneup grease on the inside of the cap clears this up and it's cheap/easy to try.
