Will I be happy with 4:10's?

I'm waiting for my 4:10's to come in sometime this week, I can't wait to pull out those 2:73s from my car. For those of you with an AOD and 4:10's how did you like them and how much of a differnce did you feel?

YES, youll be thrilled. Its like a new car.. It doesnt make any horsepower but it honestly feels like 50. I guarantee youll drive around with a smile on your face for the whole day, and your gonna wanna shoot yourself for not doing this 1st. That is if this is not your 1st mod. Let us know how much you think of em!

I just put in my set of 4:10s and I loved it. I havent fixed the speedo yet (so I have to drive 80 - 85 to go only 55, Its kind of weird) also make sure you have good rubber otherwise you might have some traction issues. I was driving home today in the rain and I have pretty bald tires and let me say, at 55 (85 on my speedometer) I was barely getting traction. the only real downside for me was buying motive gears. I didnt install them very well and they whine and clunk a little (so i gotta go back in and fix it) oh well.

So to sum it up. you should feel a difference

Thanks for your replys! Tires I'm running now are the stock 225/60/15's and are a couple of months old so they do have pretty good thread on them. Too bad I won't be able to say that about the tires after I install the gears! Any more input on this?

How do the gears feel when you punch it on about a 30mph roll? Do they hook well?

I dont know if your asking me but I really cant say how fast 30 is on my speedo. but when I punch it from anywhere from 20-55 on my speedo (I know 30 is in there somewhere) it feels great on dry pavement, but on wet pavement it gets a little slippery.

Would a 3000 stall be to much with a stock cam?

The only thing keeping me from getting 4:10s is the speedo being WAAAAAAAAY off. Have fun raking up the miles and seeing 120 mph when your only doing 85. Of course you could spend an extra $100 just to correct the speedo. Now thats

Really that's how much a speedo costs? Well I will have to leave the speedo for the upcoming months, important things first you know.

well thats how much a speedo corrector costs for a automatic. Us auto guys really get screwed when it comes to speedo correction. A simple tooth wont do it, we gotta fork over the big bucks for something to simple!!! GAY!!!! i want 4:10s

I just finished installing my 4:10's and must say WOW! I should have done that a long time ago, I had 2:73's. I also have a 5-speed fox and the AOD feels alot stronger and smoother. Only other mods to the AOD is a shift kit and a 2000 stall, I can only imagine what a 3000 stall and a Lentech valve body would do. "DONT FEAR THE GEAR!"
