hey guys.....im getting ready for the big H/C ...... im planning to tune it but i might not have the funds to do it right after the head and cam swap....my question is, will my comp like my cam? am i gonna be able drive it around without having big issue until i get it tuned? my point is: untuned, will it drive ok without big issues? its a custom cam from FPS....here are the specs:

duration at .050 is 224/234

lift is .532/.537

LSA is 112

rpm rane is 1500-6000

Have the car dyno tuned to get the AFR correct and the most power out of your setup. Your car will drive fine.

Nobody is gonna be able to tell you exactly how much of an issue you end up with

One saving grace you got on your side is your stick trans

You will want to open up the tb blade a bit
and
You will want to work with the air bleed screw (isc) on your tb

You most likely will find a high idle like 800 to 1K will get you by
until you can tune it up

Good Luck

That sounds like a pretty steep cam for a stock computer. You will have to idle it pretty high.

If you put 30's on it that alone will make you NEED a tune in itself and you need a mass air meter that isn't stock, then you will again NEED a tune to even get the car to idle with that cam!! you WILL hurt the motor if you dont tune it, as much as ur putting into the car, drop the extra $500.00 and make it perfect. trust me it's no fun trying to keep the car alive when it just want's to die!

As long as you have a mass air meter calibrated for 30s you're fine.

i'd tend to agree with Juiced here. your changing alot more than just the cam. the mass air and injectors will already warrant a tune. you might be able to get away without a tune but i wouldn't wait for long at all.
