Will not having a bigger fuel pump have negative effects on my stang?

TFS h/c/i combo + stock fuel pump = bad idea?

I never did get around to putting in a bigger fuel pump yet. I was about to order one when I wondered if having the stock fuel pump on would cause any problems. I'll probably order one tomorrow anyway, I was just wondering.

Just depends. If you are running lean could be very bad. I would hope after you did your HCI you have been checking the plugs to make sure they are colored right and you aren't running too rich/lean?

your combo could use a 255 lph pump and 24# or 30# injectors. why take a chance on not being able to get enough fuel to the engine when you step on it? i'm sure you already know how bad running lean can be for it ...

just my $.02

Well actually I'm having the opposite problem, I'm running to rich. I already have 30lb injectors in there, and my plugs are definitely fouled out from gasoline, so I'm not running lean. Just wondering if there were any other side effects. But I'll order a fuel pump tomorrow anyway.

Good call Chris. The richness you see now is from a lack of tune (my guess). But at WOT, you might end up being lean.

I find that it is very hard to read EFI plugs - even when done correctly after a blast. The EFI just trims fuel too well and runs too lean in general (not like reading carbed plugs).

Good luck Chris. :nice:

:rlaugh: Yea if he finds a twEECer for the right price, I think he might succumb to the bug.

Mike is right on - the BBK will probably have Walbro stamped on the side of it.

That is what I meant before - the 255 is a couple bucks more - might as well go bigger since there is no real downfall from doing so (that I know of).

Grady and Chris, you are both right on. I have been pestering Chris for info on simple things about the TwEECers so I have a little better idea of how all this stuff works. With my luck I would get one and it would do a wicked-witch on me and melt (I hope those things can take interior temps of 180*F+). But yeah, I think one would be cool. Chris is spot on - I would need donations for that one. Perhaps they could just be made to the 'new wheels fund' that I think Greg started on my POS wheel spacer thread. :D

JT, somebody started a donation fund for new wheels?
I wish!

On my wheel-spacer thread, one suggested-way to deal with the issues I have was to get new wheels. I wish! As I said on there, if I did that, I would be running around with nice wheels and 315's out back, like my buddy Chris. :hail2:
