Car fires up with fuel pressure and all now, then when it reaches back to idle rpm it dies, if We put our foot in her she makes all kinds of backfiring noise and etc....


iac is stock with 140,000 miles but no idle problems until now.
SO is the mass air flow sensor but the mechanic seems to think the computer is the problem...

It is the IAC. Try tapping the IAC with a long handled screwdriver for a temp fix...

sounds more like the maf since you rev it up and it backfires. try unplugging the maf and run the car, rev it up does it still backfire?

if it was an IAC problem, it shouldnt backfire when you rev it up, since IAC only controls idle.

no this is not a IAC problem. as the above post stated once your foots on the gas the if it 's the iac then your car would run fine. try another maf if possible. if another processor is availible try that too.
