Pullies will reduce drag and will free up HP, how much will it drop your 1/4 miles times, maybe a few tenths.

Personally the alum March or BBK pullies are nicest and they are lighter then the Ford, or ASP.

Yeah, you may have charging problems. People say you can just not use the underdrive alternator pulley. They will slow down all the accessories. I also would not want an underdrive pulley on my water pump. I have never even considered putting them on my car for that reason.

Some have had luck with them, others have had problems.

it might, if u have wipers a/c head lights on idling a light your voltage will probably dip, but as soon as you give it gas you can see the lights get brighter

It depends on what pullies you get. I have heard the March power and amp kit these problems are a minumum. Many pullies you will see them advertised as either "street" or "race". The fact is that with the stock alternator chaging problems are there no matter what you do, do a 3G and those problems decrease. I have ASP UD's and had no problems, especailly after the 3G, but I have thier 3" crank pulley now, it doesn't charge under 1600rpm.

I have the MAC superlightweight pulleys and I did notice a difference

The dyno tests I've seen showed a gain of 8HP with the pulleys on one test, and 12HP with the other test. The gain increases with rpm - neither was more than 5HP until above 3500 rpm - so for most street driving you don't benefit much from them.

Some people suffer both charging issues and/or cooling issues. The underdrives also slow down the water pump and the mechanical fan. There's no way to tell if it will negatively impact yours without trying. Be careful about those that say "they worked on mine, they'll work on yours". There's simply not a one-size-fits-all when it comes to what's gonna happen when you put underdrives on. Obviously, the guy in Boondocks, Canada with the stock 5.0, no a/c, manual tranny and a brand new radiator is in a different situation than the guy in Houston, TX with auto/a-c and slugging through bumper to bumper traffic in August with a 14 year old stock radiator. You'll have to try it on yours and see. The good news is they're easy to sell used if they cause more problems than they solve.

I put the stockers back on mine to solve charging, cooling (summer with the a/c on) and power steering squealing issues.

I think you'd be better off spending your money on an electric fan if you don't already have one.

I think the potential gain from an electric fan is similar to underdrives. However, be sure you size it correctly - undersized means you've got low speed cooling issues. And with just about any fan with enough cooling capacity, if you have the stock Fox 65A alternator, you're gonna have charging issues.

I picked up a tenth in the 1/4.In the hot summer months,it runs alot hotter now!! And at idle it doesnt charge! With stock gears it mite be an issue,but if you have after market gears you should be fine with the charging.

Guys he has a 94 which already has a great electric fan and a 3G 130amp alt.

Your charging problems will be a minimal issue with that alt, and I have seen similar results on the dyno like Mike.

My car has BBK underdrive pullies, ac & smog delete. This was all done before I bought the car and my car runs fine.. Haven't seen any dips in voltage. Car idles at a little under 1k.

Because of the 95 coming w/the 130amp alt, charging shouldn't be a problem, at least not in my 95. I highly recommend them, as far as brand, I think they are all pretty good, I have some cheap mac pulleys.

i put march u/d pulleys on my 89 and did feel a difference around 3200rpm. i havent had any charging issues at all. Great bang for the buck in my opinion.

thought we were talking charging Im sure most pullies are different,but mine(march) dont have any over heating problems at idle,only when I do 2500rpm,or better on the highway.
