Will Steeda x2 ball joints fix this horrible screech?

I posted a while back about my steering making a horrible screeching when turning the wheel and hitting some bumps...I have searched the forums and found it is most likely tire rods, tie rods ends or ball joints. My car did not do this till lowered. I am having the CC plates installed today bc the camber is WAY out so that may even help. Do you think if not the ball joints are the most likely problem? It's only on the pass side and didn't do it till lowered. how hard are ball joints to install? Hopefully someone can save me from buying uneeded parts lol..Thanx guys

does it sound like metal to metal contact, popping and "cracking" when you turn the wheel when your car is not moving?

Just horrible screeching! no poping realy..does it moving and sitting still! I mean its LOUD. I have no clues and dont want to blow money fixing the wrong things! Surely other can chime in hehe..Are those signs of the ball joints or something else?

I had same problem, bad rack bushings. Check them for proper torque, or better yet just replace them with some NON-offset poly bushings, or better yet aluminum.

You probably should give us some more information. Is it a high pitched squeal, or is it more of a metal to metal grind? I would guess it is either your power steering pump, tie rod ends, or ball joints.

It's ahrd to give much more details lol...It's jsut a bad screech ..doesnt sound like metal to metal or anything ...just like a broken down hotel room bed lol ...that kind of screech

I had the same exact problem you have. When i would turn the wheel it would sqeak really bad. The problem was that my ball joints were bad. I just throw some wd40 on them and the sound goes away. Ill be replacing them with some X2s in two weeks.

Where would the ball joints be located at behind the wheel? I will try and spray them and if it goes away then I know its the cause. how hard or easy are the ball joints to replace? Maybe know where there are some good write ups? Thanks for all the help so far..Bad enough everyone ask why I bought a 96 instead of a newer stang ..even worse when they throw in comments on the squeaking lol

The ball joint allows the front spindles to pivot.

I keep hearing a hundred diff responses to the noise I am hearing...I am going to try and grease up the ball joints tmrw and see if this helps...Anyone else have any other ideas I can try while I am under the car? It' didnt do this till we lowered it and it is only one side so I dont know what about lowering caused it...

try the wd40 it worked for me just peel back the ball joint housing with a screw driver and spray some wd int there and turn the wheel side to side to work it in there. I had the sweak on one side only also the driver side.

Order in which to address this:

1. WD40/Liquid Wrench the ball joint. *The stock ball joints are a pain to replace since they're pressed into the control arm. Putting on an entire new control arm is easier (& sometimes cheaper).

2. Replace the steering rack bushings with aluminum. <-- That's fixed my screech. I would hear the sound you've described when turning to the right from a stop - especially if the car had been in rain or washed. Embarrasing.
