Will these tires fit??

Will 275/40/17's fit on the rear of my 87 LX??? Currently I have 245/45/17's and I used to have 255/40/17's and never had any issues. They would be going on a set of 17x9 Cobra R Replica's.

They will probably fit no problem if the car isn't lowered. If you have dropped it, you might need to roll your fender lips, but it shouldn't be too much of a problem for you.

They will fit might need to roll the lips.

The car is not lowered so hopefully it will fit. If not, I have never rolled fender lips before. Is that pretty simple?

There is a tool that you can use to do it exactly... Most people just get out a rubber mallet or a BMFH.
