will this engine Mount right up??

im planning on checking the junkyard this weekend to see if i can find a 302 out of a explorer/moutaineer what i am wondering is will the Engine mount right up to the engine mounts?

the block will. I don't think the accessories will fit. And the intake may or may not face the drivers side.

thats cool, i was going to use all my other accesories though basically what i want is the block crankshaft pistons and heads

oh yeah do you know if the firing order is the same or does it not matter?

far as I know it matters, depends on if it is a H.O. 5.0 or not.my 5.0 h.o. has a different firing order than a regular 5.0. I had to buy a haynes manual to finally figure it out!!

The explorer/mountaineer engines do have the HO firing order. FYI they switched the heads in the middle of 97 from the regular GT40's to the GT40p's.

The longblock is interchangeable with a Mustang's. The firing order shouldnt matter since you'll want a different cam. As far as I know the Explorer cam is a torquey low revving grind. You'll need to change the timing cover and the intake will be off anyway, so you might as well change the cam and timing set.
