will this fan work??

i was at autozone and asked for a fan out of a 93 mark viii and part no. for the piece that they gave me was 733690 theres no pic but does this sound like the right one? its a 14" s blade fan, i thought mark viii fans were 18". help!!

No, I don't think it will work on your car.
Some good advice is DON'T SHOP AT AUTOZONE those people know nothing.

you still needing an electric fan?? I have one from a 92 mercury sable wagon, 3.8 engine

there are a few sables at a local j/y so ima check those out tomorrow, go ahead and ebay it. thanks for the offer though.

vatozone doesnt carry oem fans unless you order them and thats with the fan shroud assembly, so more than likely he gave you a wimpy hayden 14'' universal fan.

yeah he gave me a 14" fan of some sort, that didnt really look like it pushed that much air.

Yeah, I made the swap between the stocker and the Mark Viii fan. It takes some triming of the M. Viii fan shroud to make it thin enough to fit between a 3 core radiator and my water pump pulley. But it's in there now and does a great job at cooling my car.

No not as much as I did. You can read my progress thread and my radiator swap thread. Both will have pictures of before and after to give you an idea.

Let me go find them.


Don't worry about the timing either. A circular saw with a sharp blade can be used (carefully) to trim the shroud down...

Edit: I found my progress thread with pictures of the fan installed. I can not seem to find any pictures of the radiator swap though. Let me check my website for those.
