Will this Tire fit?

Will a 275/40/17 ET street DR fit on a 17x8 rim? I have a set of rims already and don't wanna buy another set if I don't have to.

Yes.

275/40 is the widest size you will want to go on a stock 17x8 rim.

I JUST bought some MT ET Street Radials in that size.

A 275/40/17 will fit on an 8"wide wheel, but you'll get a better contac patch with a 17x9. Most manufactures reccomend a 9" wide wheel for a 275/40


Also the center of the tire is going to were out quicker during regular street use because the tire is going to ballon out at the sides and be taller in the middle because the wheel isn't as wide as it should in reality be.

Those tires run very wide. I have 275/50/15 and they bulge a bit on a 10 inch rim. Maybe a 9" would be a good idea for you.
