I have a 1998 gt with a ton of mods, i want to pull the sohc npi motor and replace it with a better motor. Does anyone know if the new 05-07 3v motor will drop in like the 99 to 04 motors do? if not i think i will go with a 03-04 mach 1 motor. will any of these work with the stock tranny? your help and comments are greatly welcomed

I think you would have to fab some custom motor mounts as the 05/07 mounts are completely different than the 96-04. You would also need the computer. A 4v motor would be a better option- if fits with no modifications, your stock wiring and computer can be modified to work, and a 4v makes more power than a 3v (this can be argued, however). Also, a 4v is a more common swap and the massive motor looks awesome in the engine bay

i would shoot for a 4v.. it can make all the power you want.. and the bling factor is awesome..

I would suggest staying with the 2v and sticking a turbo or s/c on it. you can get 600+ HP on a 2v so unless you want to stay N/A, that would be easier than a 4v conversion. Keep in mind that air conditioning and other accessories don't fit.
