Hey guys - I read recent posts about people having issues with their power windows. I wanted to make sure the issue I am having is the same.

What is happening with my 06' stang GT is that when I roll down the driver and passenger window, all I have to do is simply push down on the window buttons and they windows automatically roll down on their own... like they are supposed to.

However, in the past, when I rolled them up, all I had to do was push up on both buttons, and they would roll up on their own... However, the past few weeks I've been having sporadic issues where they will roll down fine, but will not roll up automatically. I have to hold the buttons up for them to go back to their normal place.

I also notice when I open my car doors, they roll down slightly... like they are supposed too, but do not roll up once the door is shut.

My question is, am I experiencing the same issues as you all? Or is this something different? I haven’t tried to do the "reset" yet as I am stuck in the office, but figured I'd throw a post up here.

One hypothesis I have is that the frigid temperatures here in NY might be causing this issue....

Ideas? Thoughts? Comments?

Ok... 3 hours after "fixing" my windows with holding down the buttons, they stopped working again.

I'm convinced it has to do with the really cold weather.

any ice or obstructions in the tracks might be causing this make sure the tracks are clear and do the reset deal again.

Same issue here.

I thought it might be temp issues also but it's been in the 60s here in MI. I'm only having the issue with my drivers window at this time. The cold was making my e-brake stick also. Awesome since I'm at 42,000 miles. Craptastic!!!!

I had to have a e-brake cable, a caliper and a rotor replaced due to the damn e-brake sticking. Good thing I was still under warranty at least. Seems like I have heard a lot of people having that issue.

Sounds to me like they just need calibrated. Do do that, push down, hold for 3 seconds after the window is all the way down. Then pull up and hold 3 seconds after window is all the way up. Repeat 2 more times. Do the same for the other window. Quit playing with them!
