Sometimes you have to follow that procedure 2 or 3 times for it to work. That really should fix it. Unless you happen to have the global windows feature. Then that would be the problem.

I actually had that problem for a few days (sometime last year). Then it just went away. I assumed it to be some weird electrical gremlin? But it hasn't ever come back.

By the way I'm in Lubbock to. Howdy!

If the window is rolling up and down just fine, but not stopping where it should then it isnt the motor. Its the current setting on the computer where it thinks it should stop. I wouldnt waste your money on a electric motor that is doing its job by rolling a window up and down, it knows no different.

If you have a 2005, you may have a feature called "global windows" and it allows you to roll down the windows with the key fob. Most people who had this feature had troubles with their windows, so Ford stopped that option. If you have global windows, this could be the cause.

To find out if you have global windows, try holding down the unlock button for a few seconds. That should drop the windows. Holding down the lock button should roll them up. If that works, then you have global windows and need to go see a dealer about getting it deactivated.

I went out to my car at lunch and tried bigcat's tip. It worked!
My problem began when I cleaned the corrosion from the negative battery thermal (some warning lights had appeared as a result of the poor connection). After the cleaning, the warnings lights disappeared, but my driver’s window was stuck in the lower position (about ¼ inch down to clear rubber door channels). Now it works fine. Thanks bigcat!

I wonder if I have this "global windows" thing. I have an 05, and bought it used, so I dont exactly know what it has. I'm gonna go test it now!

Two comments:
The Ford TSB for the window drop down says to unhook the battery for 5 seconds before resetting the computer with the 2 second deal up and down.
If the window does not pop up when the door is shut, check the door close switch. My car was doing that occasionally and I would have to close the door a little harder to get the window to go up. Since then I have fixed the problem.
