Is it safe to use an S.O.S pad and some Windex? Or would the S.O.S scratch the chit out of it?

I don't quite understand what you are trying to accomplish.. you are trying to remove the glue, but are you keeping the tint that is on the car or not?

If you are trying to keep the tint, the DO NOT use Windex or the SOS pad. Use a soft cloth, soap and plenty of water. Everything I've read says to never clean a tinted window with windex and you don't want to take the chance of the pad scratching it (I'm sure it could).

If the tint is gone, then you can use the Windex. Probably still not a good idea to use the SOS pad on anything, because a soft cloth will work fine.

There is a product you can get form any Wal mart or Auto store specifically for tint removal. Look for it where they sell tint. Works pretty good.

ammonia is a good way to remove it. look at the ingredients on the "tint removal" stuff it is mostly ammonia IIRC. just spray it on and then scrape off with a SHARP razor blade

+1 on the ammonia, do it on a hot day when the sun is shining directly on the windows and it will come off easily.

Window Tint

Based on experience, removing and putting on tints is complicated. The complex glass curvature and heat-shrinking are far too difficult. So I suggest you leave the job to the professionals. For me, I consult the expert on tints at http://www.TintBuyer.com for my window tinting needs, they provided quotations, tint law in every state and locate the best professional tint installer near my area. I hope this helps

+1. I used to just wipe the glue with goo gone-soaked cloth, and begin scraping with a sharp razor.
