Here's a problem that I'm sure someone has an answer to.

The windows on both doors of my '65 Coupe can be pushed down simply by exerting pressure at the top of the window. The driver's window is actually easier to move down than the passenger's, but both have the same issue. Neither one mates real well with the weatherstripping at the top, either, which means if anyone was to try, they can get enough of their fingertips (or easily a screwdriver) and pry the window down. I'm not super-concerned about theft since the car isn't in tip-top shape and I am rarely very far from it when I use it to go out. But... I'd like to get the windows fixed so that they stay up and possibly seal a little better. The interior sometimes gets damp just from washing the car. The weatherstripping seems to be in reasonably good shape and isn't really cracked or dry-rotted. Is it possible when I put the doors back together years ago during the restoration that I forgot some piece within the window mechanism or has something just worn out over the years? I know there are some plastic(like?) bushings inside that sometimes wear out. Would those cause this?

Forgive me if this has been discussed previously. I did a search and didn't come up with anything that seemed to match this problem.

the window regulators have a wound up spring in them, kinda like an old clock spring. Maybe they've lost their tension, or broken. I think you can get new regulators for around $30 ea. Not much fun to swap out, but with flexible wrists its doable.

One of my windows on my 66 convertible does the same thing. I tried replacing the window crank with an aftermarket unit but took it out again. They don't work for beans, it's better to find a good used one.
