Windshield trim studs?

Do any of you know if they make these studs for your windshield trim clips to hook to, or do you have to make up something yourself and tack weld it in there? For some reason my windshield frame is missing a few of them.

I ended up using a very small flat head screw and some silicone sealant. It seemed to work well enough.

Thanks for the info, I'll have to see what I can find that'll work, looks to me like the right size common nail with a tack weld would work, I didn't even think of using a screw, that may be the easiest.

IIRC, it took me a a while to find one with a head of the appropriate thickness.

Also, I got into this project because two of the studs were so poorly located that they caused big gaps between the trim and the windshield gasket, so you cannot necessarily expect to get a tight fit working from the remnants of the old stud as a guide.

That's an interesting comment about the location, maybe I'll add a few extras to use if need be. As far as the head goes I figure after screwing it in I could always grind it down to size if need be. That's really what got me thinking about a common nail, the head is already about the right shape and size but you may have to weld it from under the dash which isn't all that much fun.

Just install 1965 moulding clips. They are slightly different, and are attached with a screw. They work perfectly.

These are what I bought. I have not used them yet.

Do you have a picture with the front and rear windshield out? I am missing several and not sure where to put the new ones in.

Buckeye, somebody else also mentioned the stud gun and I have one but I don't see how that would work, the head is what welds to the metal leaving you just the shaft to hook a puller to whereas you want it the other way around?

mtaqua, mine is a drop top so there isn't any back glass and the front is missing a few of them but I can see where they were so you should also be able to see some dimples to help you locate the right spots. Also it was mentioned that they may not be in the best spots anyway so spacing them a bit closer may help, I'll need to think about that some more myself.

the missing ones I am concerned about are in the back. I cut out a ton of rust in the back. I think I am only missing one up front. I guess it probably really doesn't matter exactly where they are, just so long as they hold the molding in. So maybe some test fitting before I put the screws in.
