winter project almost done, some.....Q's

okay, i have an 89 2.3 auto coupe and an 89 lx hatch 5.0 5-speed. So i basically pulled the ol' switcheroo.
I switched all this..
motor
motor wiring harness and computer (A9P i believe)
tranny
pedal assembly
radiator, fan, etc
guage pod
exhaust
rear springs
axle
front struts, spindles, brakes, and sway bar
fuel lines,
some brake lines
master cylinders
gas tanks ( not sure if I needed to or not)

i am nearly done but here are my questions... I don't have any brake lights (i have turn signals and tails) , why would this be? Also the plugs for the automatic tranny don't match the plugs in the t-5. Only the one that plugs into the speedo gear matched. The speedo would work if i twisted it with my fingers but i plugged it in and nothing, so does this mean that the gear is stripped or somethin? Also are the 7.5 and the 8.8 axle shafts the same. If so i'll save those.
I had to bypass the ignition with a push button starter,
I'll have to get some pics of the whole thing up here soon.
So, if any of you guys have done this swap and can help, please reply

thanks guys

Nick

Sounds to me like you just need to swap the wiring harness for the tranny now--that should have all the connections you need on it, as well as probably fixing your brake light and starting issues.

thanks for the help. i think i hooked up the brake light switch okay, but i'll check that again. as far as the wiring harness for the tranny goes, does it just unplug inside the car somewhere? i just got 6 inches of snow and ice and don't really want to dig through it, but if i have to........

Also , i have all the extra parts for sale...

RUST FREE Doors, power window, and locks,
RUST FREE Hatch, defrost, tint
87-93 quarter windows
front bumper
Lx tails
some other stuff, let me know if you need any thing
Nick

Thanks

It's actually the harness where the pedals go, then it goes to a rubber plug in the floor, and then to the tranny. You can just unplug the whole thing, and swap it with the 5-speed one. You'll need to take the carpet up to get to it and go under the car too, so with 6 inches of snow it probably won't be something you'll want to do right now.
