Yes, but it's worth it. Just do it after every wash.

Depends on your idea of fairly quick, I apply it to every piece of glass on the car, front sides and rear, and even the headlights - and it takes all of 10 minutes, 5 to apply, 5 to buff, i do it every 3 weeks, i wash every saturday, and wax every 3rd saturday.

I love it when you THINK you've buffed all the rain X off (using 2 extra clean cloths)...and then the sun glare hits your windshield at 7am and you feel stupid..It's happened to me twice and thats not fun. Otherwise, once you hit about 50mph you don't even need to use your windshield wipers anymore, regardless of how hard it's raining

Rain-X is the snitz.

Yes, it is troublesome to apply, but it's easy once you get the hang of it.
Fist, never apply it while the car is in the sun. Works best if the glass is cool.
Second, never apply it directly to the galss. Squirt it onto a cloth rag, then apply it. Work it in like wax.
Let it thoroughly dry and buff with a clean rag. If there's any streaks use a plain paper towel.
Lastly, use the Rain-X windshield washer fluid too.

I drive an F-250 here in Florida. Been using Rain-X for 7 years now and in all but the hardest rain I don't need wipers. Any speed above 45 the air current is enough to make the water flow up the glass and off the truck.

I used that on my windshield last year during all those dam hurricanes and the wipers smeared the hell out of the RainX. Then I really couldn't see.

Never happened to me. I've never really had a problem with letting the rain X dry and buff. I think your letting it dry for to long. I let it sit on there for minute or two and then I go.

Has anyone used fog X(or something like that, it's also done by the same people as rain x). I used it once and I can't remember if it worked that well or not. I think it worked good for a while but it didn't last long.
