Wiper problem

Okay my windshield wipers only work on the highest speed. I did a search and found out where the governor was and yes I do have one. Is there any way to test it to make sure it is good?

Also the wiring to the motor looks like its been hacked and redone. The wiper motor is out of a 92 and the car is an 89. Can anyone tell me what wires are to go to what color? I have an 89 wiring diagram but need to know what the wiper wiring is for a 92 Mustang so I can try and figure out this problem..

AFAIK the wiper motor connections for the 87 and 92 should be the same unless it was converted from a two connector setup to a single connector setup.

Most the wire colors are the same but like 3 are different. And all I have is the HIGH speed, nothing happens at all on any other speed. I just need to make sure the wiring is correct before I can start looking into bad parts.

None of the diagrams I have show any color differences. I've looked at 88, 89, 92, 93. They all have W, DB/O, BK/PK, R, & BK(2).

Hmmm, the wiper motor harness that is on mine has a black and white wire on it and there are 2 other wires that don't have a home also.. Ill have to check again tomorrow. I did pull the governor thing out and there is a break in that also, so I am gonna soder it up and fix that but I know that is not my only problem.
