Wiring Diagram/Colors

I was wondering if anybody knows what the color codes for the wires are? like what does the green/black me and so on, and also i know this is a NEWBIE question but what is the red wire? i know it has something to do with power

Red=switched 12V
Yellow=constant 12V
black=ground
orange=illumination
blue=power ant or amp turn on
white=left front
green=left rear(i think)
purple=right rear
grey=right front

the solids are + polarity
the stripes are - polarity

umm im pretty sure you got the red and yellow mixed up, the yellow is a consective power, and the red is the power that is on only when your car is turned on (ignition)

That's standard if looking at aftermarket radios/harnesses. It isn't always the case in the car. The power/illumination are generally correct. Speakers can be damned near any color the manufacturer has lying around.

Those are the factroy harness colors. Is the factory plug cut off, if not go get an adapter. I got mine at wall mart for 5.00. If it is you can pull the speakers and look at the wires conneting to them and then find the constant, ground and switched wires with a voltage meter.
