I've been working on installing an EZ 21 fuse wiring harness for the better part of two months now. I thought I was finished today and connected the battery up this morning. I was very glad to see that there was no smoke exiting from under the dash. The horn immediatly came on but I figure that is a small problem. So I begain trying other things:
Headlights: ok
Door switches: ok
Flahers: ok
Brake lights: ok
Turn signals: No go
Ignition: No go
Oh crap!
So I started going through the fuses they are fine but I noticed that certain circuits are not recieving power. So at the fuse box there is no power to the Radio, Wipers, AC/Heat, or the turnsignals. What a wierd sucky problem to run into. I think somewhere in the wiring for the ignition swithc that there is something wrong. Of course that is the most deeply baried portion of the harness. I am thinking I may have to pull my dash to get to it again.
Is there anything else you guys can think of that I should check before I go that far? I also think that I may have smoked my voltage regulator, but I know that shouldn't effect the ignition in any case. I wish that the EZ wiring instructions would have included a complete circuit diagram. I would have been alot easier to deal with the stupid GM plug they had on the ignition switch then. GM
Wait they made the Corvete so GM can't be all bad.
