OK, so I'm moving along with my 1990 GT restore project. I seem to be having issues with the junkyard wiring harness for both the fogs and the headlights. The fogs will blow their fuse within moments of being turned on and I also just lost a brand new headlight bulb, it's blown. I was thinking of just re-wiring both the fogs and the headlights. Will this be difficult? Does anyone have diagrams and recommendations? Thanks.

I would be checking continuity from the lighting sockets (no bulbs) to the feed into the splice. Then check to ensure no wires are crossed in your splices.

You know, come to think of it, we may have used all the harnesses from the 90. Assuming the harnesses are correct, is rewiring all the lights a major hassle? Let me also point something out: when everything was initially hooked up, it was all working. After running the fogs for a bit, they started blowing fuses. Now, the fuses go after only a few moments.

Yes, the headlights do stay functional. i know where you're headed with this, I already put a headlight switch repair kit from 50resto in when I put the car back together. I do plan on doing the foglight fix, but not until I narrow down the initial problem. I was just wondering if just re-wiring everything from scratch was feasible and if anyone had diagrams. Is this going to be a nightmare project?

If you are using hi-wattage bulbs they will pull too much current for the stock switch and wiring. Maybe inserting a relay some where between the switch power to turn on the relay. Take power directly from the battery to power the fog lamps. Make sure you fuse this connection incase a bulb shorts or the hanress shorts to protect your battery.
