Are you going to run new speaker wire to each new speaker? Otherwise I would have used an adapter kit.

Those are new speaker wires. How much are these "kits" and how difficult is it to install one?

Those adapter kits are only 15 bucks or so. They just bypass the factory amp and make everything nice if you ever need to re-install the factory radio. You can order form Crutchfield, which is what I usually do, or go to Best try or Circuit.

no factory amp in a '89. i would take it to a reputable radio installer and let him do it the right way. it shouldnt be that much and it is better not to screw up and create a bigger mess with all of those wires....

I figured that, but then wondered why you need to use any of the OEM wiring sans the accessory and memory wires.
