witch dumps are the loudest or sound best

I had mac pro chamber, and dumps when I ran my 302. That motor was bone stock with 200k+ miles. Everyone thought I was running a bigger cam.
On my 357w with a bigger cam it just sounds evil!
On the road at 55-60 sound is fine, but they do drone at low rpm.

i have shortie egual headers w/ 2-1/2" custome built x-pipe with 2 chamber flowmasters dumped right after the muffler....my car is louder then my wifes 95 cobra...she's hounding me to get her exhaust done so it would be louder...

yea just go get a set of dumps from pep boys pipe section - mine sounded better comin right out of the muffler w/ my flows, when i dumped them, it killed the sound, n i took them right back off

So your exhaust is shooting straight onto your fuel tank and exhaust fumes are getting caught under the body? I mean, if you never notice a problem than keep em as long as your fuel doesn't start boiling from all that extra heat.

I'm using pep boys elbows, cut them in half, and angled them to the ground and to the sides. Sounds GREAT!!!:hail2:

My opinion on this subject...

Dumps sound horrible. Every street Mustang without a built motor I have heard with dumps sounds aweful. I'm a fan of a smooth sound, whereas dumps are more of a vibration off the ground, and kills the tone mufflers have. Second off Flowmasters sound alright, but there are a lot better sounding mufflers out there. I prefer my Macs over the Flowmasters I used to have, and even plan to get rid of those this summer for something meaner. Third without a decent motor under the hood, the exhaust will never sound truly mean. It might get louder, but not what I would call better. Dumped race mufflers on a stock or near stock motor just wont sound like a good muffler on a race motor.

Obviousely when it comes to mufflers, we all do what we want, but when asking opinions, your going to get all kinds.
