Won’t stay idled after I put gas in it

Last two times I put gas in my 2000 Mustang I go to drive off and it dies. I start it up and the idle is rough and dies. I put gas treatment and after a few minutes it ran a lot better. Today I gassed up and it did the same thing. I noticed low gas light came on and then service engine soon light came on. Any ideas???

Consider ruling out a charging system problem before changing any "other" parts.

Quitting for an unknown reason but restarts easily is a prime symptom of a bad battery or loose battery terminal.

Next rule out an intake vacuum leak.

Then start looking for an EVAP system problem.

Question. When you fill up and the pump shuts off do you EVER add more gas? If so it's possible there's raw gas in the EVAP charcoal canister. Why is this important? Because excessive gas vapors will be drawn into the motor during an EVAP purge.

Often once gas gets into the EVAP charcoal canister it is ruined as the raw gas turns the charcoal to solid jelly.
