This seems like such a simple and common sense thing to do, i figured i'd ask anyways to make sure i'm not overlooking anything. Basically my car is carb'ed and the fuel lines that run from the inner fender are a bit too close to the headers for my liking, so i'm just going to run them somewhere else in the engine bay.

Anything stupid i should know about? I know there will be some gas in the lines but is it going to pour out? Is it enough that i should have a bucket or something to catch it in?

I think i'm going to cut the metal lines from the outside fenderwell, flare them out and run my rubber hose from them, them drill a hole for them to go through the outer fender so they're protected. This way, they pass the headers on the outside of the fender well and then through the inner fender up by the front of the motor.

Does anyone see any problems with this? I figure as long as the hose that connects to the metal lines goes directly behind the outer fender, i shouldnt have to worry about cutting the hose or anything. The fitting that the stock hoses comes off from on the inside of the inner fender is way too close to the headers, so running longer hoses from there wouldnt do me any good.
