World Class T5 Whant kind of tranny fluid to use

I have a 89 LX that I bought last week. It has a World Class T5 Tranny. The guy I bought it from said when he last changed the fluid he put Penzoil Syncromesh in it. Shoul I use that or use the Dexron II ATF?

If it's a Factory Ford T-5 then he / you should be using ATF. But if it's a transmission built by the aftermarket than it could require the used of GM's syncrocrash.

Dex III. I use ATF in my power steering though.

Type F for power steering. Dextron Mercon III is a type of ATF.
