Guys/gals what are some signs of a clutch getting worn? This is my 1st manual car and it seems to drive differnt than it did when i got it. I know im ruff on the car but not that ruff. What are some signs of a clutch going or getting worse b/c of the driver?

or stuck on side of the road, because shifter won't move or in to any gear like mine was - I blew clutch fliction material all aprt in to million pieces

Normaly, if clutch is worn to the point of needing replacement, what you'll notice is while going slight up hill on 5th gear, and you give a gas, speed remains, but RPM will shoot up. but at flat road, you can drive fine(as long as you don't give it too much gas

Pedal Vibration tells alot of things..
the clutch vibrating? SOmetimes i can hear it going crazy and ill touch it with my foot and yep its the clutch padel. I notice acouple hours ago there was lilke 2 notches while going into 2nd. It went away after it warmed up from the cold weather.:Damnit: I think i need to relook over my stick driving!

Just pull the damn trans out and look. you have 97. chances are, its well worn, or won't hurt to install new one. as far as pedal vibration goes, its usually caused by worn TOB.

either way, I say pull transd out. if you have no LT header, you can yank them off in about 2hrs, 3 top.

that exactly what happened to mine. when pulling up a hill all felt fine in 3rd gear at 5500 rpm then came forth kinda wierd rpms did a climb but no increase in spd then 5th yikes (i bet you could nearly redline it and be decreasing in spd). any ways i stayed off the gas and put a new clutch in it when the weekend rolled around. first time this happened to me i remember stopping and doing a burn out in first power shifting to second and all seemed fine. the moment i hit 4th the thing would slip. never made sense to me it would hold under heavy acceleration in first second and third but not in 4th and fifth.
