Worst injury you've ever received?

The worst part was when I had to pull the saw out. I lifted my hand and it was haning there. I pulled it out, and it actually poured fat tissue with it. :notnice: Then it started actually squirting blood! Not a pretty sight. Are my pics showing up?

Fushnicken, you are right, I hear others call it a keyhole saw a lot too. :nice:
I'm no Doc, but if you ever have a puncture wound, I don't think you are supposed to pull it out (whatever "it" is). You are actually better to drive (or ride) too the hospital with it in.

Ripping it out might be the first instinct, but it can actually do lots of damage.

Yea I didn't even think about it when I did it. When I pulled it out it pulled the fat tissue out too. Luckily it was still attached to my hand, so we wrapped it up, and the doctor had to pull the wound open and stuff the tissue back in. :(

I've dislocated my knee cap twice. What that means is that my left knee cap popped out of the socket and was to the left of joint. The first time it broke the knee cap and bruise my mcl and acl and tore my miniscus. The second time, I bruised all of the ligaments and tore the miniscus again. Needless to says, I don't play sports too often anymore.

I've had a few. First one--neighbor's brother parked his Dodge Truck in the abandoned parking lot across the street from his house. It was parked on a decline and we (the smart kids that we were) decided it would be cool to get on the skateboards (on our stomachs) and coast down the hill under the truck (we were bored).

I did it 6 times without incident. On the 7th time, I figured I would go under like a mechanic, but decided not to do it at the last minute and just layed down on the board like usual. Well I got about under the truck ok, but there was a pesky rearend cover that didn't like what I was doing.

It decided to teach me a lesson by grabbing onto my scalp and ripping it. Yep-- I got scalped by a truck. After coming to--I ran home and knocked on the door (dork). My parents freaked. Luckily we lived 3 blocks to the hospital. When we got there, the doc showed my dad how bad it was by--brace yourself--lifting up the flap of skin and showing him the white of my skull. Anyway, I got 32 stitches and all is good. Now I have a great horseshoe-shaped scar to show the ladies.

Second one was done on the same hill, same skateboard a couple of years later. I was going down the hill, my wheels got stuck on a pebble and I did a flying elbow drop onto the concrete. Broke the elbow, took two screws and some metal wire to put it back together--once again a bad scar.

i could go on as my nickname is "Scar Man", but I won't.

This story isn't about me but an ex-co-worker that I used to work with about 15 years ago. I noticed his eye had some scar tissue around the top of his eye lid. When I was over at his house I noticed glasses that he had and never wore. I picked them up and his one lens was just glass but the other one it had a very powerful lens. I asked him about it. He told me this
"When I was back home out east, I had my own shop. Well I was working on the rear drums on a truck. The brake springs were all rusty and were difficult to come off. I was pulling on them then all of a sudden wham. I felt pain in my eye. Your first natural response is to take whatever is in your eye out. Well it haooen to be one of the springs and along with it came my eye ball. I yelled for my girlfriend to help me and she was shocked, but she grabbed some clean wet rags and put the eye in them and drove me to the hospital. The funny thing about the story was when we go there and the nurse asked me what the problem was after she clearly saw what was wrong. I told her that my eye was in my hand."
Well thats not the only thing that happened to this guy. While I was working with him at my shop, he was in the alignment pit and the bottle jack that was holding up the car slipped and broke his hand. After he healed he was working on an engine and broke an A/C line and inhaled freon. he ended up burning his lungs and throat and was off for awhile. Then it was winter time, he just brought a car in, as he was getting out he slipped and damadged his knee. After that he packed up his stuff and went back home out east.
I sometimes think of ole Joe. wondering if he is ok or not.

Let's see...I have a few. Worst PAIN I went through were the chemical burns I got on my...third leg.

This past year at college, we had a slip-n-slide in the hallway of my dorm. It was the last week we're all living there, so we went all out. We covered the plastic with soap, and then soaked it in water. You could slide down the whole hall..Some dumb dumb DUMB girl poured laundry detergent on the slide, and it had friggin BLEACH in it.

About 30 of us ended up going down the slip-n-slide, but only about 10 of us got the worst burns you could ever imagine. Funny thing was, the only place we all got burned was "down there"...maybe the skin is different, or more prone? but whatever, both guys and girls got it, I had it the worst. I took 4 showers that night and screamed in agony. The pain was unbearable, on my etc's, you could see drops of blood coming through the skin. Thats how bad it was. Took a few days to heal up, I used more baby powder in 2 days then I ever will. Thats the most painful experience. I have never even in my life experienced pain like that.

In 8th grade I jumped down 10 stairs, landed wrong, broke my foot and cracked my kneecap on the opposite leg. Was in a wheelchair for 2 months.

I also fell off a wall at a riot at my college and cracked the other knee. Felt great. Was on crutches for awhile.

But yeah, most pain was the burn.

one of my worst injuries was while riding a bike i went over the handel bars and put out my arms to try and stop me(worst idea ever) my hand hit the ground and my elbow came up into my gut Knocking the wind out of me and also give my arm no where to go, so my hand decided to snap in half. was pretty damn nasty i was in shock and kept on telling my friends i didnt have to go to the hospital as my hand was limp and almost holded in half.

Another biking injury also happened with me goin over the bars going around a turn, the bike slipped on some gravel and i went sailing directly into a curb and got iced had to get like 10 stiches the day before i went to the beach, that salt water felt great goin into my cut open face.
