after i got pulled over racing a honda, doing 70 in a 40 ($130), i went to the gas station because my belt popped over a few splines so i moved it back. i was on my way when i herd this whinning noise when i got into it.? i than started home when i couldnt keep the car up to speed and it kept stalling out it than finally died on the side of the road. i popped the hood to find two spark plugs laying on top of the motor and two other spark plug wires werent connected to the plugs. fresh motor installed about 3 months ago. all of this after i spent 4 hours changing the rear end and trans fluid. now if anyone can tell me if the motor is trash or if it just needs heads or what ive gottin into this time

The motor probably won't be trash, but the heads might be, did all four plugs on one bank blowout or what ones were it? I've been there before, I've had a sparkplug blowout before, except just not four at a time...

Heads are probaly salvagable, search for "Timesert" and that will probaly be the key to fixing it.

You are very lucky you only recieved a $130 ticket for street racing... but this thread will likely be closed due to that.

70 in a 40, you lucky you weren't arrested.

Your choices are either: (1) Timesert, or (2) new heads. Do not helicoil the heads.

we used timeserts in the army and i loved them. heli coils are garbage. we would use the timeserts in out rocket launchers, which the armor is actually compressed aluminum and they would last forever while taking a tremendous amount of punishment. they are fairly easy to install and reasonably priced.

You are very lucky to walk away with only a 130$ fine. In my 88, I got on the gas leaving a light... absolutely no tire spin... not sideways... not racing... not even speeding, I only accelerated quickly from 0-40mph (45 zone) and got a ticket for exhibition of speed with a mandatory court appearance. 250$ later, it is settled.

crapola

So quit your bitching!

By the way, WTF did you need to get to 70mph to beat a honda? Should have been settled from 0-30mph. lol

i really didnt know how fast i was going and we started at about 40mph roll and i had 5 ppl in the car well four ppl but one of them weighs 320lbs so i count that as two haha, and i was a pretty fast integra . two middle plugs on the driver side blew out with quite a bit of the head still attached to them. the other two plug wires were blowin off of the spark plugs but the plugs are still in there. even with the skreetchy noise its not a spun bearing of something. i also dnt have a passenger side headlight, corner light and a hugh dent in the front fender

btw i think it was bad karma to cuz i was doing alot of dumb stuff that i should have gone to jail for so the motor blowing is just taking place of going to jail

What were the brands of plugs used? Were they motorcraft? Did you install yourself? Changed on a cold engine block?

the ticket was for not obeying a traffic control device. now i cant even find the ticket after i got the car home at 3:30am when i was at the car at about 1:30pm calling the tow truck. supposedly someone didnt tell someone else something. idk maybe its time to sell it for what its worth.

how do i check to see if the bottom end is still good?

LOL - but on a serious note - you could always head down to the junkyard and pull another 4.6L motor and have it installed for CHEAP.

I used a Murrays heli coil kit for 11.99. Still holding to this day. I've made dyno runs with it, racing, it's fine.

its a dammned shame that you DIDNT get arrested and have your car impounded. Morons like you who street race give the hobby a bad name. I hope you pull this stunt again and end up bleeding to death in a ditch. Hopefully you won't hurt anyone in the process.
