I am getting ready to rebuild my shortblock and just got a quote (in Canadian $) on a set of Total Seal "Max Seal" gapless rings. They were anywhere from $365-$420 depending on the ring pack of my aftermarket pistons (which I cant remember right now) I dont have any issues dropping coin on my car (like any of us do,LOL!!) but that seems a bit much for the gains gapless rings would yield me given that my car is a street car and NOT an all out race car.. Any thoughts guys?

thanks.

Don't have any experience with those rings but I say just go with regular good quality rings and call it a day. The money is better spent elsewhere! Especially on a street car!

I was thinking along the same lines,Im just a hog for trying to squeeze extra power from the the car though Theres also the question of using N20 with gapless top rings...everyone seems to have a different opinion on this topic!

Got my Total Seals from http://www.cnc-motorsports.com they ran about $130 US. I also went with the SRP pistons and Eagle SIR rods from them. They have good prices and great customer service.

I'm not sure what the exchange rate on Canukian Gazinks are but $130 sound reasonable for a set of 8 gapless rings.

Edit: (actually 16 lol)

I dout they are gapless for that price. Yes they are worth the cash IMHO. Especially if you have a stroker. Virtually 0% compression loss and no blowby. They are awesome.

Holly Crap....$365-$420!?!

I spent less than that on my whole engine rebuild kit. Waste of money for a street car IMO. You'll probably never notice the difference. Besides....with timing advanced, the crappy stock starters on our cars have enough problems trying to turn over a warm car. Even with the little bit of leak down we do get.
