Would a 94+ v6 cat-back swap in?

Righto, my cat-back is shot. It's being held on the cat with a clothes hanger, there's as much air blowing out the front of the muffler as the back, and the axle rubs the pipe every time my shocks depress.

I'm sounding like a bloody ricer, and I'm not getting near the milage I should be getting. (25 highway, rather than 33 before my exhaust went bad).

I remember someone in here saying that for a good power mod they swapped in a v6 muffler, so I was wondering if that was a direct swap, or any mods necessary, and could I go a step further and pull a full cat-back from a junkyard?

And as I usually do, I rambled a bit, sorry bout that.

But basically, would I be able to pull a cat back from a 94+ mustang in a junkyard, and have it bolt right onto my car, clear the axle and everything?

The deal with that is that it will physically fit, however the hangers will be different from the style that is on your car now (probably) and the flange at the front might be positioned differently from yours.

why not just go to a muffler shop and replace the pipe going from the cat to the muffler. cant cost that much. or if you want a band-aid fix get some tubing from the parts store and clamp it in place.

The 94+ cars are longer...it's not gonna happen without major modification...tails will be too long, midpipe will be too long and not line up to stock location.

Righto! Thanks for the help. Tis all a moot point now. I just got a new performance muffler and some brackets from auto zone and fixed it up yesterday. I got the Cherry Bomb 2 Turbo muffler. Not bad at all. Barely louder than stock, but I can definately feel a bit more pep in my motor.
