I have a 1967 mustang coupe and these are supose to go on the rear....

I'd have to say that there is no way an 18 foot rim that is 9 feet wide will fit, a monster trucks couldn't handle a tire that size no matter how much lift they had.

Seriously though, if your ride height isn't low than any wheel can fit with a spacer just about but you should list the backspace instead of the offset to know for sure. With an 18" rim though you will have very little side wall if you wish to maintain a stock tire height and keep the speedo where it is.

Some of this gathered info should help you figure it out: http://www.dodgestang.com/Tire Fitment Guide 67-8.pdf

Haha opps sorry i will fix that...
I just want to back to sit alittle higher then the front, I thought maybe get bigger rims in the back to raise it up.

I am getting 17" 8" wide rims in the front and 18" 9" wide in the back

Tires will be 245 40 r17 front and rear would be 255 40 r18

He hasnt told me the backspacing but these rims came off the 05 mustang and they fit them nice under the fender.

if they are 9" wide in the back, spend a few more bucks and get a wider tire (275/35's)

Well, 25.4mm is 1"...... 24mm is a tad over 15/16"

My 65 fastback

has 17 inch rims with P215/50/R17`s all the way around. I dont see how you could squezze much more in the fenderwells...

I dont know what my backspacing is, but tell me how to measure it and I`ll check.

To measure your backspace lay the tire face down, place a board across the back of the rim and measure down to the hub.

I just ordered 17 x 8's up front with 245/45/17's (4.5bs) and 17 x 9.5's out back with 275/40/17 (5.5bs) on my 69 vert and that is the comfortable max without going to low or pounding anything with a hammer.

Unless I'm mistaken, deepdish wheel on the late model stuff is typically 6.85 " backspace. Good luck unless you have some serious wheel well mods and suspension work done.

Ok guys i changed my mind I am going to go with 245/45/17 on a 8" wide rim fr the front and the back would be a 275/45/17 on a 9" rim sound good?

Ohh dose anyone know about the deep dish i really like the way they look on the classic I have seen a few people have them they look really nice. can anyone point me in the right direction on what I need as of backspacing?

My tire guides show the widest recomended wheel as 8'' with 4.5 back space. That is with stock rear width and no wheel well mods. 9'' fit 69 up.

18x9" deep dish bullet of an 05 mustang? I dont think your brake calipers will clear....if you have disc brakes. The is only one company that I know of that distributes that wheel....Mustang Warehouse. I had them on my 06 GT....they just didnt look.....right. If they were off an SN95 car, I would be more inclined to buy.

Hey Pakrat

I have 4 1/4 inch backspacing and 10 inch wide wheels all the way around. I have to admit I have some tire rubbing issues, but I think its because of the sagging suspension more then anything. I`m gonna have to keep mine jacked up to keep it off the tires for now. As soon as I get these new leafs and coils on it I`ll update you. Also think if I roll the fenders it would fix the issue too.

Wheel wells

No mods at all. Sometimes when I back out of the driveway with my wheels turned to the right, when I turn left and take off quick the tire rubs right at the top of the fender well but only on the drivers side. I think when I get the new coils up front (620 spring rate) it`ll fix that issue though, at least I hope it will. Worst case I`ll rent one of those fender well rollers and roll em up.

FYI, I`m running P215/50/R17`s on American Racing Wheels.

Also got one of the new rear leafs on it today, It stiffened it up good on that side, no more bounce.
