I would LOVE to have a termi or a newer, more refined mustang. Why do I keep mine?

1) Its PAID OFF!! I owe nothing to anyone to keep it. Period. Most of you would agree with me here. If I get something else, I will have a payment. There is no amount I could sell it for that would make up for this, and it is worth more to me financially wise than I could sell it for.

2) It's my first stang. My first real car that I have alot of pride in. I'm attatched. Sometimes I'm so sick of the thing, but other times I wouldnt trade it for anything else.

3) It's in great shape. No, its not perfect. It has to put up with DD duties at all times in various weather conditions. There are plenty of things I'd fix when I get the time/money, and I'm sure someday it will be perfect. But for now, its gets me everywhere I need to go, with no payment, and its been super reliable. 143k on the ticker now. Trans shifts like butter, motor starts with no hassle and has no ticks/knocks. Mechanically, aside from a minor rear main seal leak, its in perfect shape.

When I was younger, I told myself I would never sell my Fox. Then it started nickel and diming me to death and I realized it was time to grow up and I did. I still miss it sometimes, but would never buy another one as a daily driver. I'll own another Mustang one day, but not another Fox....at least not as a daily driver.

Yup, I got WAY to much into it ($20k), owned for it 12yrs, looks like new and it just sits in my garage. I just did a KBB on it- $3800! Looks like I'm going to be keeping it a lot longer.

I'd get more money for it if if I parted it out!

I just bought mine and now I see all of the little things I think need to be changed. It needs new paint, I want different wheels, It has a Mach 460 stereo, I should have shopped around longer, I should have gotten a 99-04, a Cobra, blah blah blah.

As soon as I get in it and start driving all of that goes away. It needs some things but what 12 year old car doesn't? What it comes down to for me is that it's a toy, a hobby. I will never see most of the money I dump into this thing. Eventually I will build it into the car I want.

This car is paid for and it's a blast to drive. I dumped alot of money into the 86 4runner I just sold and took a loss, but I had alot of fun modding and driving it. Instead of a car payment I get to buy a new mod every month.

Mustangs are not very practical but they sure are fun!

100 percent agree im 18 and bought my first mustang it has 109k on the odo but it runs perfectly fine and has only been getting better, its a 10 year old car that came from miami fl where the sun beat on the paint but it still looks good and driving the car is just to much fun. I have only had the car for 3 weeks and im arleady attached and cant wait to get more and more mods. And i never knew how good it felt to get a compliment on my car until i got this one, my friends call me wierd because i look forward to the weekends when i get to wash it and wax it and clean it up. just to shorten it up i couldnt imagine selling my car and its only been 3 weeks

either way i want to be in a mustang for the rest of my life as long as i can afford it, when im older i want an 04 cobra in the garage and a small ranger or something as my dd.

I'll sell mine when I'm not as turned on by it and my wandering eye catches a glimpse of something else, within reason, that I'd rather mess around with. In the end, I guess cars really are just like women.

Another reason would be that i plan on racking up the miles on mine over time. Selling it after that would mean it would be high mileage...

... and listening to someone try and put a price tag on my baby just because itd have a few miles... ugh. i couldnt handle it.

I can't say I wouldn't sell it, but it would have to be a really good price for me to part ways with it.

I originally bought it to keep forever. It's my car. Upgrades have been slow because of that reason and cash flow.

If I sold it, it would have to be replaced with something, which would likely include some sort of payment, which I don't want. I've had enough of those, thanks.
