All sh*t talking aside, I am pretty excited. I was able to score about $800 off parts from my 2011 today, so that will be nice to put aside for when I do actually possess the car and want to start cleaning up the few things the interior needs. I am going to start there.

The car will be paid for and sitting in their climate controlled "classic car showroom" until my Explorer is gone and I laterally move that money into new flooring for my house. I supposedly have someone coming to check out my Explorer on Friday evening. That new flooring translates into me having what I want, and my wife having one less thing to b*tch about me spending money on that isnt new flooring.

Honestly. I wouldn't swear trying to keep it as oem as possible trying to keep some sense of value in the car. This isn't some 10000 mile survivor car. Mod it the way that suits you, and chances are if you put some restoration effort into it along with clean tasteful mods, it's going to have the same value as if you kept it stock.
I don't see rappers, movie stars and NFL players picking up fox body mustangs anytime soon, so this is a niche market. I'd venture to say most enthusiasts wouldn't overlook a tastefully modded car at all

This has never made sense to me. you're thinking of preserving a car for a market that doesn't care. It's just not important enough of a car.

Yeah, that is kind of the rationalization I have come to. If it were a 10k mile car, a) I wouldnt be buying it because they are commanding $15k+, b) I would leave it stock. But since its a pretty well used one, I will most likely not be able to hold off the mod bug for long. Again though, just going to start with getting the interior back to as good as it can be, get it driving right, and then take the aftermarket stuff slow. She's old now, cant really go throwing her around on the dance floor like I used to.
