Left my autobody school today. In class, I installed my Carbon fiber trunk, which I painted YESTERDAY...

So this ancient old woman, who has no business driving anymore, looks RIGHT at me while I'm doing 35 in a 35, and pulls out in front of me from Save A Lot grocery. I lock 'em up, and miss her. My friend was behind me in a 5000lbs chevy truck and nailed me at 35 while i was stopped. People are telling me its totalled but we'll see. I have multiple witnesses, so I'm in NO trouble. Got a nice ambulance ride to Winchester because I almost blacked out. My head and neck hurt so bad I screamed for 5 minutes while I was stuck in my car...

Car won't start, or turn over. But hey, my Steeda SPEED MATTERS license plate frame survived...

Damn!

That SUCKS!!!

The inertia switch almost certainly got tripped in that. In the trunk, on the left side towards the back there is a red button. Press it and reset the switch, the car should start after that.

Glad you are ok (somewhat), MAKE SURE YOU FIND OUT IF YOU ARE INJURED! You could be in a mess if you don't pay attention to your neck and it comes out that you have a serious injury. Her insurance will cover that.

Hard to tell if it's totaled through pics. I hope it can be repaired and it looks like it can be fixed and it doesn't look totaled to me.

Thank god!! I was hoping it was a switch! I hope that's all it is that keeps it from starting.

That should be all. Doubt that any fuel components got damaged, but check for any leaks first and if you smell gas don't even bother, lol.

35 is a decent hit when you are stopped and getting nailed by a big truck, but it looks like it took the hit pretty well.

Thank goodness it didn't hurt your precious cute 16s.

Just kidding. Hope all goes as you desire. I'd want to buy it from you if that 1/4 panel wasn't dented in like that.

In Virginia, if the damage exceeds 75% of the vehicle value, it's totaled. KBB Suggested retail is $8,425. However, the trade in value was only $5,500 or so. It's very possible it's totaled.

I painted that carbon fiber trunk yesterday. I was planning to paint the hood next week. Then I have some 3.73 gears going in Feb. 1st. And my intake had only been on a month or so...

DAMN this sucks...

It just keeps playing in my head. Everything went white for a second and my ears were ringing. People were like telling me my neck might be broken because of how hard my head snapped back.

They shouldn't total it out. But if the repairs cost more than 70% of the car's value they may try to. But you can try to talk the insurance company out of it if they say they are going to total it.

Around five years ago I had some illegal rear end me doing 45 while I was at a complete stop. Apparently he had a diabetic seizure. And he didn't have insurance. My repairs were a little over 10 grand and the insurance company was going to total it. But I showed them how good of condition the car was in before the guy hit me. They decided to do the repairs. But I have to tell you. The car may never be the same again.

Yeah I'm learning auto body now. I'm an excellent painter, and I can do repairs, but I know that it will never be the same. I hope it's totaled for that reason. I'm back and forth. I want it totaled so I have a fresh, new clean slate. But this mustang became part of me, and I want that part back. Unfortunately, I can't have both.

they will probably total it. It's going on 10 years.

Glad your ok. Look forward to a new car, better to have a newer car than drive one after it has been hit hard.

I do want it totaled out but I doubt it will be.

And I had the carbon fiber before I had the car, so I didn't know it would have those wheels. But I don't hate them like everyone else does, so I'm in no hurry to replace them. And I only payed $750 for the hood/trunk, vs. the $1,300 they were new, and I couldn't have bought rims and tires for $750, so I don't think it was too bad of an investment.
