Wrist Pin Size & Offset

I've been doing some reading and I came across an old article about how Steeda builds their modular motors for boost. They say that they custom order pistons with a 0.912 pin which is the old 5.0 factory pin size. They claim that the stock 0.866 Modular pin size is pushing the envelope at more than 400HP. I've never heard of anyone else doing this. Is it reasonable or unnecessary?

Also in the same article Steeda says that they do away with the offset pin feature which is only to reduce piston slap. They say that its more of a hassle for an engine builder than the benefits it offers.

...opinions?

Can't say about the offset but I know a guy who had a stock Cobra. He changed the pully on the supercharger to get a little more boost and the wrist pin came out. Ford did not warrenty the motor of course. When he rebuilt it, he uped the size on the wrist pins but he went crazy with that motor and its making well over 500hp now.

Here is my opinion on that:
If you are building the motor from the ground up why over build it anyways ? How much extra is it going to cost you to upgrade to the bigger wrist pins ? Better safe then sorry.
