WTF - tumber again??

I changed my key tumbler over a year ago. It feels fine, but I have to turn the key all the way til it stops before it will try to start the car. Once today I turned it all the way and it did nothing so I bumped the column with the key still all the way turned and it fired right up.

WTF???? Did it slip out of alignment? Is the replacement tumbler bad?

AutoZone.... the only in town the day we needed it. Also bought a new ignition switch. I guess I'll have to tear it apart to see if it's the tumbler or the rod going down to the ignition switch.
