Received my Saleen style wing today. Of course the third brake light was not shipped with it. Can I use my gt wing light? Currently there is no provision for a light and the company wants me to ship the damn thing back. Thinking about either shipping it back and keeping the stock spoiler or shipping it back and waiting for another. Sucks because I'm planning on laying the primer tommorow.

You have to use the stock 3rd brake light, and I would send it back on their expense and wait for a 93 Cobra wing to come back hehehe

Let me get this straight. The wing that you just purchased is not even designed to be used with a 3rd brake light. Is that correct?

If so... Install a third brake light behind the rear window glass near the top and call it a day.

It is designed to have it. Actually supposed to be included, but nothing came with it. It has the indentation, but no hole or assembly. Thought about using an LX third in the hatch window, but may loose out in the long run. On top of it all, I keep getting the Middle Eastern phone operators that barely speak English. To say the least, I'm a bit FLUID right now. I want the damn wing, but I need the light to be legal. Going to call them back again and wait to speak to management. Been disconected twice already.

If it has the slot for it can't you just push your stock one in there? Drill whatever hole you need for it...

86+ Saleen wings are supposed to have a 3rd brake light on the hatch. The coupe/convertible wing doesn't have one though.

The 3rd brake light is the same as the GT brake light, so if you have a GT you are all set. LX guys need to go find one.

Here's how my brake light looks. Excuse the dirty car, it has been stored for 2 years and i wheeled it out for a couple pics

Ok so Mine doesnt have the inset area for the light. Must be a coupe or vert wing. i only have an indentation on the underside. Thanks for the pic. I'd post pics, but my file space is tied up with a closed thread.
Guess I'm sending it back. Would have had to patch the GT holes and drill new ones anyway. Screw it the stock wing is staying.

If yours is indented, then it must be a coupe/convertible wing.

The Saleen wing should bolt onto a GT hatch using the stock holes and stock brake light

Guy's they do make Saleen wings for pre-'86 cars too. Must have been shipped the wrong one. I would get the right one. It would look a little ghetto in the back window. Sort of like the cars you see driving around with Home Audio speakers in the rear deck.

They do but on those wings there is no indentation at all. The wing is smooth all the way across.

He said his was indented where the brake light is, and every coupe/vert wing i have seen has the indent for the vert brake light

Sending the thing back. If they ever get the UPS postage sticker to me. I'll run the stock wing. If it bothers me, I have enough paint to do a saleen wing later. Did get the rear half of the car primered. Every little ding I missed shows now. Better now than when the paint goes on.
